Dear Parents & Leadership,
I just wanted to take a minute and update everyone on our new church year and some upcoming events for the children’s and preschool departments. First of all, I would like to say thank you to all that have volunteered to teach for the upcoming year. Our teachers are as follows:
Children’s Sunday School (All Quarters) – Kim Bailey, Erica Johnson, Ginger Greeson
Preschool Sunday School (Fall – Spring) – Rosemary Hughes, Kelly Oden
Preschool Sunday School (Summer) – Kandy and Ronnie Butler, Kelly Oden
Wednesday Nights (Children & Preschool)
Fall – Marilyn Edans, Linda Ballard, Marybeth Marshall
Winter – Terra Mueller, Debra Simmons
Spring – Linda Ballard, Helen Sopha
Summer – Marilyn Edans, Heather Anglin
The children have been working on learning the books of the bible, importance of prayer, and have learned The Lord’s Prayer. Kim will continue teaching from the curriculum, as well as having them learn Psalm 23. Rosemary will continue teaching from the curriculum and has some very creative crafts and ideas to bring it to life.
On Wednesday nights, they will be learning some fundamentals of the bible. Marilyn has started off the fall quarter with the 12 Disciples and Miracles of Jesus. Terra will teach the 10 Commandments and the Fruits of the Spirit. Spring quarter is yet to be determined, but we have some great topics to choose from such as The Armor of God 7 Days of Creation, 12 Tribes of Israel, etc. We will plan some special events for the summer.
We are going to have a Christmas special this year. Julia and Kim will start practicing with them in November, so we encourage your kids to be there on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The program will be December 14th. We will also be having a special guest during Sunday School on December 14th.
We are thankful for all of these children and to the parents that are committed to bringing them on Sundays and Wednesdays. We will continue to pour into them with love and the teaching of God’s word.
